CENTRA® – Modular Purified Water Storage and Distribution System

Modular Systems For Laboratories Requiring High Flow Rates of Type 1 Water to Type 3 Water

CENTRA is a modular purified water storage and distribution system designed to supply Type I to Type III water to laboratory suites.

The high flow rate of this product range perfectly matches the need of mid-sized and large laboratories, while the flexibility to integrate other equipment around the system meets the changing requirements of your lab.

CENTRA offers an economic alternative to the central water purification system approach, with savings offered in distribution piping and equipment costs. All built-in water purification technologies are controlled by a central processor with audio-visual alarm warning, an internal leak detection alarm and connection to building management systems (BMS).

How One CENTRA System Serves Multiple Labs and Departments

CENTRA is a purified water storage and distribution system built around centralized generation with multi-point distribution. One purification skid feeds a loop that runs to taps in several labs, departments or an entire building, rather than dispensing water at a single bench.

Because the loop is fed from one central processor, every point of use draws from the same monitored water quality, with a shared audio-visual alarm, leak detection and building management system (BMS) connection covering the whole installation instead of just one instrument.

This is the core difference from a point-of-use system such as the PURELAB® Flex or the PURELAB® Chorus range which purify water at a single dispenser for one workstation. CENTRA is the right fit when several labs need to draw from one shared, centrally monitored source.

Which Water Purity Grade Does Your Department Need?

The CENTRA purified water storage and distribution system feeds every point on its distribution loop from the same central system, so it can serve multiple departments with different purity requirements from one installation.

The table below maps common laboratory applications to the water purity grade they typically require.

Application / DepartmentRecommended Water Purity

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a centralized lab water system?

A centralized lab water system, like CENTRA, purifies water at one central point and distributes it through a loop to multiple taps, labs or departments — rather than requiring a separate purification unit at each bench.

How does CENTRA compare to point-of-use systems?

Point-of-use systems such as PURELAB® Flex or the PURELAB® Chorus range purify water at a single dispenser for one workstation. CENTRA instead generates and distributes purified water — Type I to Type III — to multiple points of use from one shared system, which is more economical for mid-sized and large laboratories with several labs to serve.

Which CENTRA system is right for my lab?

It depends on required water purity and flow rate. CENTRA RDS distributes already-purified water through a building loop; CENTRA R200 generates and distributes up to 200 l/hr; CENTRA R60/120 is sized for general laboratory applications at up to 60 or 120 l/hr.
