MEDICA Pro-R & Pro-RE

MEDICA® Pro-R & Pro-RE

CLRW compliant water, providing a pressurized economical feed for single or multiple clinical diagnostics analyzers

Features
  • Space-saving – ‘all in one’ design allows easy under-bench installation and flexibility for future relocation as the laboratory grows
  • Economy – budget adherence is maintained by optimal water purification technology and the use of an optional E-cartridge to reduce CO2, depending on the feedwater quality
  • Guaranteed performance at all times – self-monitoring software with built-in emergency by-pass allows uninterrupted operation 24 hours per day
  • Guaranteed bacterial specification – onboard technology combined with easy system sanitization ensures a specification of <1 CFU/ml
  • Upgradable configuration – from 30 l/hr up to 120 l/hr production rate, 2 l/min up to 4 l/min flow rate, to grow as the laboratory grows

Ideally suited for:

• Large clinical analyzers or linked multiple analyzers requiring up to 120 liters/hr and an instantaneous demand of up to 4 liters/min
• Automated analyzer platforms that use a mix of technologies, e.g. combining chemistry and immunoassays

Reliable supply for labs requiring large volumes

The MEDICA Pro range is specifically designed to meet the quality needs of high performance, high volume single or multiple Clinical Diagnostic Analyzers to Clinical Laboratory Reagent Water (CLRW) standard.

Complete with a 50 liter, built-in wrap-around reservoir, these systems are available as 30, 60 or 120 liters/hr rates and this space-saving design can be readily upgraded to higher flow rates. Long-lasting Protek pre-treatment cartridges have a high capacity adsorbent/pre-filter that provides increased protection by minimizing contaminants, e.g. chlorine and chloramines, and can be easily installed thereby reducing maintenance time. Twin deionization cartridges ensure an instantaneous demand of up to 4 liters/min.

MEDICA Pro-R ~ Providing pressurized feed to single or multiple analyzers requiring consistent high purity water

MEDICA Pro-RE ~ Economically feeding single or multiple analyzers that are heavily utilized

FAQs

What is the MEDICA product range?

The MEDICA product range is specifically targeted at the Clinical diagnostics market. The MEDICA will either directly feed (analysers which require a direct feed) or fill via a dispense gun the analyser with water that meets the recommendations of the Clinical Laboratory Standards Institute (CLSI).

How often do I need to change my consumables?

Consumables life depends entirely on the quality and volume of water being fed into the MEDICA product. Higher volumes and lower quality water will increase consumables usage.

What feedwater is required?

Normally potable water is sufficient as feedwater. However, the quality of potable water can vary between countries and regions. Feed water specifications can be found in the operators manual and the data sheet of the product. It is important that if the feedwater specification is exceeded suitable pre-treatment be installed to bring the feedwater within specifications.

What is the MEDICA Pro?

The MEDICA Pro provides higher volumes of water for clinical analyser which have a higher demand. It produces between 30 and 120L/hr of CLRW grade water.

What is the difference between a MEDICA Pro R and MEDICA Pro RE?

The MEDICA Pro R is the larger equivalent of the MEDICA-R. It circulates water through the water purification technologies before it is dispensed to the analyser. The MEDICA Pro RE is exactly the same as the MEDICA PRO R except it contains a de-gasser for removing CO2 from the water reducing running costs.

Why remove CO2 from the water?

CO2 acts as a weakly charged ion which affects the purity of the water. It is removed by the Deionisation packs down stream which causes them to expire more quickly. Removing CO2 helps lengthen the life of consumables lowering your costs of ownership.

How much CO2 should be in the water?

The CO2 levels are set out in the feedwater specifications.

Protecting Clinical Output from Water Risks

When lives are at stake, there is no margin for error. Your clinical analyser must receive a constant and reliable supply of CLRW* water, regardless of the quality of the feedwater available. Download our whitepaper to learn more.
